Waxing

(winemaking) – applying a layer of a special wax on the cork and on about 5 cm of the outside of the neck of the bottle, like a cap, in order to seal it, in order to prevent micro-oxygenation, which is a mandatory technological phase in the bottling of white wines for wine cellars.
