Cuvee Petit Sauvignon Blanc, from the Avincis winery, is a surprising wine: although it is extremely delicate, it has the roundness and warmth of fruit you would expect from a denser, more extractive wine. And yet, beneath the floral notes (elderberry, white flowers), there are notes of peaches and ripe apricots, with hints of citrus that give it liveliness, all ending with a very long, elegant finish that promises the wine a long life and a beautiful evolution.
Perhaps its most pleasing attribute, however, is its versatility, being equally welcome as a gastronomic accompaniment to light meats, dishes with white sauces or even salads (without vinegar!), as well as individually, as an accompaniment to long discussions.
