Wines of Romania aims to support and promote the role of the winemaker in the challenging journey of wine from grape to glass. If you are over 18 years old, have residence in Romania, and are passionate about viticulture, sign up for the competition, and you can win substantial prizes.

ABOUT

Fine wine starts its life in the vineyard.

The second edition of the National Grapevine Pruning Competition during the vegetative hibernation period will take place at the Didactic Research and Development Station for Viticulture and Pomiculture Pietroasa-Istrita. Who can participate

Best Winemaker in Romania - 2024 Edition

The competition is open to any visitor of the website www.winesofromania.com who meets the following conditions:

  • Has reached the age of 18 at the start of the competition.
  • Has a domicile on Romanian territory or is a resident of Romania.
  • Declares under their own responsibility that they work in vineyards registered in SINVV (Romanian National System for Vine and Wine Information) or in RPV (Register of Vineyard Plantations in Romania).
  • The contest is open as well for third or fourth-year students of a Romanian Horticulture or Agronomy Faculty.

The first edition took place at the Didactic Research and Development Station for Viticulture and Pomiculture in Pietroasa-Istrita, and welcomed vine growers from all Romanian wine regions.

The contest will take place on Saturday, March 2, 2024. The events schedule will be accessible online, at least 7 days before the competition, on the dedicated competition page.
