Important distinctions for wines produced by Romanian wineries, in an international competition: ten gold medals were awarded to Romanian roses out of a total of 18 gold medals awarded at the International Championship Rose, 2022 edition. The awarded roses come from eight Romanian wineries: Vinicola Averesti, Agro Industrial Ceres, Balla Geza, Beciul Domnesc, Domaine Vinarte, Domeniile Sahateni, Strunga Winery and Sarica Niculitel.
The title "The Best Rose of 2022" also went to a wine from a Romanian winery: Busuioaca de Averesti Spectrum 2021, from Vinicola Averesti, a wine that was also awarded the "Best Value 2022" medal. This Romanian winery has had no less than three gold medal-winning wines at the International Championship Rose, all of which were awarded Best Value 2022. "Effort and quality are always rewarded in the wine world! We are proud to have three Gold medals out of the 10 obtained by Romania at the competition and we continue to dedicate ourselves to good wines!", said Crina Dulute Florea, Marketing Director of Averesti Estates, immediately after the results were announced.

The competition took place on 4 and 5 May 2002 in the Sierakow mansion near the Polish city of Krakow. The jury consisted of 15 specialists from 13 countries who tasted the wines divided into three commissions.
The President of the jury was Elizabeth Gabay, Master of Wine (France/UK).
Two Romanian representatives were part of the jury: Razvan Stoenescu, ambassador of the #winelover community in Romania, and Liviu Gheorghe, member of the Winelover Romania Association. "Out of the 67 samples of Romanian rose wines, 59 were sent by Winelover Romania Association, partner of the International Rose Championship", said Razvan Stoenescu.
The wines that received the most divergent scores were tasted again by the committee chairmen.
Another 33 wines from Romanian wineries were awarded at the competition in Poland: 25 with silver medals and eight with the "Best Value 2021" qualification.
In this competition, awards are given according to the following criteria:
- Grand Gold Medal – for wines rated 93 points and above;
- Gold medal – for wines scored 89-92 points;
- Silver medal – for wines scored 86-88 points.
In addition to the standard medals, the special "Best Value 2021" award was given to the wines with the best value for money.
This was the sixth edition of the International Rose Championship, a worldwide competition initiated in Poland and organized, under the aegis of the Amorim Group, by the magazine "Czas Wina", at the initiative of Michal Bardel, editor-in-chief. Every edition of this international competition has been attended by wineries from Romania.
