Romania won 10 of the 18 gold medals of the International Rose Wine Competition, the most awarded of the producers being Averesti Domains, with gold for Busuioaca de Averesti Nativa, Merlot Rose and Spectrum, Busuioaca produced exclusively for the Carrefour Open Romanian Wine program.
Conveniently, the medals were announced just as the Wines of Romania team was in Venice, filming an episode dedicated to Busuioacei Nativa, a wine chosen as representative of the local varieties and a good example of the quality standard that a wine lover less familiar with Romanian wines can expect.
Nativa – soon to be called Nativus – is a generous and inviting wine, very elegant, with intense aromas of raspberry, strawberry, red orange, basil and citrus inflections that make it crisp and juicy.
We can only be happy that the trust we have invested in this wine (and producer, who has become a Gold Partner of WoR) has been reconfirmed by an international jury.
