Crama Olterra, founded in 2012 under the name Crama Mennini by Paolo Mennini, has its roots in the hills of Oltenia, which reminded the founder of his native Tuscany. In 2023, the Vintruvian Estates group acquired the winery and renamed it Olterra, inspired by the Olt region.
The winery spans 68 hectares and is located in Colibași, Olt County, in the heart of the Drăgășani area. It cultivates local varieties such as Crâmpoșie Selecționată and Negru de Drăgășani, along with Fetească Regală and Sauvignon Blanc. Between 2023 and 2024, Olterra underwent a modernisation process with investments of 1.2 million euros in new equipment, including a bottling line for sparkling wines and 180 new barrels.
The winery has also launched two new wine ranges: Luturi, paying homage to the clay-rich soil, and Scoarțe, inspired by traditional Oltenian carpets. Scoarțe celebrates local traditions through its white, red, and rosé wines.
