Moșia Galicea Mare, founded in 1912, has a long history, starting with the winery built in 1915 in an industrial style with Art Deco influences for George Valentin Bibescu. The first 15 hectares of vines were planted at the same time, and the wine was produced using traditional methods and a semi-gravitational system.
In the 1930s, Petre Durlănescu bought the winery, adding a symbolic tower and continuing the tradition of Bordeaux-style wines. After the communist regime confiscated the vineyard, it was extended by another 35 hectares. In 2016, the estate was revitalised, and in 2018, it owned 50 hectares of vines, with plans to convert to organic viticulture.
