Over 130 wine producers and premium gourmet product providers showcased exceptional wines from 15 countries, including Romania, Moldova, Georgia, Italy, Spain, France, South Africa, the USA, and New Zealand. The most prestigious international labels were represented, offering the public a refined and diverse selection of wines.
In addition to wines, nearly 10,000 visitors had the chance to taste brandies, specialty coffee, and ready-bottled wine-based cocktails. Guests included professionals from the HoReCa industry from across the country, importers from Germany, England, Canada, and the USA, as well as specialized journalists from abroad. Alongside numerous premium wine enthusiasts, they enjoyed an effervescent weekend, with a special program designed by the organizers.
The autumn edition included 16 masterclasses, offering lucky participants the opportunity to explore the showcased wines in detail, participate in guided tastings, and learn about wine pairings with various culinary dishes. These sessions, led by international experts, were an essential component of the festival, promoting wine education and wine culture in Romania.
The event also featured tastings of 100-point Parker wines, live culinary demonstrations, wood-fired pizza, and gourmet food trucks. The public enjoyed freshly cooked pasta dishes and other culinary surprises.
Sicily was successfully represented by Distretto Produttivo Vino di Sicilia and Sicily Wine, which brought iconic wines such as Nero D’Avola and Grillo to the public’s attention, along with "vino sfuso." Additionally, the ARS school of chefs from Catania impressed the audience with typical Italian dishes, perfectly paired with suitable wines.
Macromex added extra flavor to the event, offering a varied selection of bakery and pastry products, refined desserts, and gourmet delicacies that perfectly complemented every glass of wine. Recognized as a leader in HoReCa and Retail supply, Macromex also showcased the digital platforms Bocado.ro and Mercadi.ro, demonstrating its commitment to efficiency and innovation.
HoReCa professionals had free access to the event, enjoying the opportunity to interact directly with top producers and distributors.
“We are extremely pleased with the success of this autumn edition of RO-Wine. The record number of visitors, nearing 10,000 over the three-day event, is clear evidence of the public’s interest and passion for quality wines in Romania. The positive feedback received from both participants and exhibitors encourages us to continue raising the event’s standards, offering a premium experience for all wine lovers,” said Liviu Popescu, co-founder of RO-Wine.
“The RO-Wine festival is not just about tasting the best wines, but also about education and exploration. The masterclasses organized during the three-day event played a crucial role in bringing together top experts and enthusiasts, offering a unique platform to discover the stories behind each bottle of wine. These sessions provided a valuable opportunity to deepen knowledge about terroirs, winemaking techniques, and international trends, contributing to the growth of wine culture in Romania. Through these masterclasses, we aim to elevate the level of wine education and strengthen the connections between producers, specialists, and consumers,” added Marinela V.
