Last weekend marked the beginning of the celebration of the “Anniversary Year – 10 Years of RO-Wine” with the first edition of this year’s festival. Cluj-Napoca hosted an exceptional RO-Wine event, bringing together an impressive number of visitors from across the country, primarily representatives of the HoReCa industry. An exceptional finding was that many wine enthusiasts came from abroad specifically for this event, reinforcing the festival’s international status.

The festival took place in two separate halls: 24 Romanian wineries presented their wines in the Romania and Republic of Moldova Hall, while a second hall, dedicated to international wine importers, hosted 25 wineries from Italy, France, Spain, the USA, and Argentina. A notable presence was that of sparkling wines, both from prestigious Champagne houses and local sparkling wines or prosecco.

The atmosphere was electric, and special moments were quick to follow, with winery representatives opening Magnum bottles and creating unique experiences for participants.

Gourmet Show at RO-Wine Cluj

Among the gourmet partners of the festival, Carne Online by Distri Fresh put on a true “charcuterie” show with a wide range of fine cheeses and cold cuts, artisanal panettones, premium pasta, and many other delights that were highly appreciated by visitors.

At this year’s first RO-Wine edition in Cluj, Macromex Horeca offered a unique culinary experience that perfectly complemented both Romanian and international wines.

Chios Social Lounge Cluj once again hosted the Macromex Horeca booths, set up on both levels of the venue, where visitors would enjoy a complete culinary universe from appetizers to desserts!

At the main stand, appetizer solutions featuring sous-vide cooked meat were presented, paired with Philadelphia cream cheese, impressing with their versatility and innovative presentation.

At the Dr. Oetker Professional pastry stand, visitors enjoyed a diverse range of mini cakes, tarts, fine sponge cakes, and chocolate, vanilla, or refreshingly fruity-flavored desserts.

In addition to the gourmet experience, the RO-Wine festival is a networking opportunity and a chance to bring together HoReCa industry representatives to discover trends, innovations, and business solutions.

Macromex, through its own brands (Food&Glory, Edenia, Corso, La Strada), as well as partner brands (Philadelphia, La Lorraine, Dr. Oetker Professional), once again demonstrated the performance of its products and the effectiveness of its solutions for optimizing HoReCa businesses in an outstanding partnership alongside the RO-Wine organizers.

RO-Wine, a Unique Energy

After the event concluded, Marinela Ardelean, co-founder of RO-Wine, stated: “This edition was one of the most successful so far, a true benchmark for the community of wine lovers. The large number of visitors and their enthusiasm confirm that interest in quality wines is continuously growing. But the most encouraging aspects are the large number of foreign tourists who came specifically for the festival – who have the chance to discover a wonderful city and a charming historical region – and the high number of HoReCa professionals, which shows a transformation in the way restaurants understand the necessity of a wine selection that stimulates consumers and complements the dishes.”

Liviu Popescu, co-founder of RO-Wine, added: “RO-Wine Cluj was a real success, both for exhibitors and visitors. The energy of the festival, the impressive variety of wines, and the special moments throughout the event motivate us to continue delighting all our participants with increasingly spectacular editions.”

We’ll see you at RO-Wine Bucharest, between May 16–18, at Fratelli Studios, for an anniversary edition full of surprises and unmissable moments!
