The Italian Salon returns to RO-Wine
Lovers of Italian flavors and refined aromas will be able to enjoy an exclusive selection of specialties at the Taste of Italy salon, organized by ICE – the Italian Trade Agency, with most products being presented in Romania for the first time. The entire exhibition is designed as a true feast dedicated to food and wine, which has made Italy famous worldwide. Wine producers, olive oil producers, cheese makers, and delicatessen producers from renowned regions such as Veneto, Puglia, Tuscany, Emilia-Romagna, Campania, Sicily, Piedmont, Lazio, Lombardy, and Abruzzo will participate.
"Italy is the European country with the highest number of agri-food products with protected designation of origin and geographical indication recognized by the European Union – 847 – another proof of the quality of the products, but, above all, of the strong connection between Italian agri-food excellence and the region of origin. We are pleased to note that the Romanian public currently pays special attention to top Italian agri-food products," said the Italian Ambassador to Bucharest, His Excellency Alfredo Maria Durante Mangoni.
RO-Wine + Macromex = Gourmet
Macromex Horeca is joining once again the RO-Wine festival this year. As a Gourmet Partner, it will complement the entire experience offered by the wines through exceptional dishes, which will delight even the most demanding participant. The Gourmet experience proposed by Macromex will cross an entire culinary universe: bakery products, pastries and confectionery, à la carte dishes based on the juiciest and tastiest sous vide products or street food dishes available at the Food&Glory Foodtruck, in the parking lot . Macromex, through its own brands (Food&Glory, Edenia, Corso, La Strada), but also partner brands (Philadelphia, La Lorraine and Dr Oetker), once again proves that it is a top player, both in Retail and in HoReCa.
Coffee breaks between tastings will be supported by specialty coffee from Constantin Coffee, which will provide curious visitors not only with great aromas but also with the stories behind artisanal products.
RO-Wine, a festival that has become a destination
"We already have the experience of twelve festivals organized so far, and we are convinced that a lucky 13 is coming. We have learned to anticipate market trends and needs, to meet the desires of those who come to this festival, whether they are Horeca experts or wine lovers. Since 2016, we have been covering the learining need of wine lovers, the diversification need of importers, distributors, or restaurants, the pleasure of discovery for all wine lovers, and the opportunity for a good deal for those seeking the best quality/price ratio.
The consistently growing numbers in recent years – visitors, exhibitors, labels displayed, glasses used, etc. – allow us to say that we have become a benchmark in the wine industry in Romania and that we are on the brink of maturity. We are pleased with the increasing presence of foreign tourists who come specifically to discover the best Romanian wines, and we are confident that wine and gastronomic tourism has a bright future in Romania," say the organizers of the RO-Wine festival | The International Wine Festival of Romania, Marinela Ardelean and Liviu and Mihai Popescu.

RO-Wine, bigger and better
The first edition of RO-Wine | The International Wine Festival of Romania, in 2016, brought 300 labels from 60 producers to the taste buds of wine lovers, out of which 32 Romanian and 28 international. At this year’s spring edition, the first organized over three days, over 1,000 labels were presented, from over 200 producers. In addition to the editions organized in Bucharest, the RO-Wine festival is also present in Cluj, where it has reached its fourth edition.
Over time, masterclasses dedicated to those who want to learn about the world of wine have been organized, and year after year, their number and complexity have increased, with some of the heavyweights of the wine world taking the "stage."
The large number of Italian wineries of all sizes has increasingly attracted the industry’s attention and led to the creation, in partnership with ICE, of the Taste of Italy Salon. The enthusiasm of producers from the Republic of Moldova has also resulted in the creation of a dedicated area for them, just as sparkling wines, in high demand among visitors, have received their dedicated spaces.
New wines and wineries have been launched, memorable events have taken place, but above all, relationships have been born and strengthened. Not just business relationships, but also personal ones, among people bound by the same passion – the infinite world of wine, the taste that blends bits of history, geography, geology, science, and lots of love. So the Wines of Romania team is delighted to invite you, in turn, to raise a glass once again for the future of Romanian wine. On October 13-15, at Fratelli Studios, as you have become accustomed to.
