OLTERRA WINERY
In 2023, VINTRUVIAN ESTATES SRL, the owner of Caii de la Letea, Crama DeMatei, and Crama Histria, acquired 100% of the shares of SC CRAMA MENNINI SRL, the producer of several wines with the Controlled Designation of Origin (DOC) Dragasani.
After the acquisition, Vintruvian Estates led a significant investment program, both to expand the aging capacity for red wines (180 new barrels from the USA, France, and Romania, and four vats with capacities between 3,000 and 5,000 liters) and to prepare for the launch of sparkling wines.
The company’s future actions also include restructuring the vineyard so that the area cultivated with Negru de Dragasani and Cramposie Selectionata, the local varieties of the region, reaches 60% of the total vineyard area.
Following the new investment program, the winery has a maximum production capacity of 700,000 bottles per year.
Today, the winery presents a new image, a new name – Crama Olterra – and new premium wines from the varieties specific to the wine region where the vineyards are located: Negru de Dragasani, Cramposie Selectionata, Feteasca Regala, and others.
Olterra, current Dragasani wines, inspired by the local folklore with its multitude of expressions. Luturi (Clays) and Scoarte (Rugs), with a refined aesthetic that reduces everything to its essence. A way of thinking that has been preserved here for thousands of years. Simple, which makes it forever contemporary.
