A family winery, between tradition and modernity
Domeniile Anastasia belongs to the Individual Enterprise “Marin N. Constantin” and the history of the winery begins in 2008 with the birth of little Anastasia. It was then that the girl’s parents bought and planted vines on two vinicultural centres with tradition – Urlaţi and Valea Călugărească. The choice of the two locations was not random as both Urlaţi and Valea Călugărească wine centres are marked by a significant tradition, and the climate has, in its turn, a decisive role: it is similar to that of Bordeaux or Tuscany regions. Although they had purchased 7 hectares, only 1.2 ha were exclusively intended for production, being cultivated with Merlot, while the rest of them were replanted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay.
The owners have also invested in setting up a modern cellar in the village Strejnicu, near Ploieşti. Equipped at European standards, the wine cellar is a combination of modern and traditional styles: it accommodates first-base winemaking equipment, stainless steel tanks for fermentation and storage, equipment for wine conditioning and bottling. It has a processing capacity of one hundred tons of grapes. Seven hundred hectolitres can be stored here while the semi-automatic bottling line capacity is of 300 bottles per hour. In 2015, alongside the existing wine cellar, a bivalent space was built, for both barrels and bottled wine storage and for wine tastings.
