Vinarte

Princes, Suns, Nedeeas and tempting Sirens

Vinarte is one of the pioneers of premium wines in Romania. The founders, a group of Romanian, French and Italian investors, have replaced the hybrid, ill vines inherited from communism with varieties brought from Hexagon, changing the outdated technology of old barrels and concrete tanks with stainless steel reservoirs and barriques.
The cultivated varieties, Sauvignon Blanc, Italian Riesling, Tămâioasă Românească, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Negru de Drăgășani, Novac, Fetească Neagră are vinified in three production centres: Bolovanu (Olt county) and Stârmina (Mehedinți county).
Few Romanian companies can proudly claim organizing vertical tastings of 1998 wines. Vinarte aficionados are mainly attracted by the famous varieties under labels like Prince Mircea (Merlot), Soare (Cabernet Sauvignon) and Sirena Dunării (Italian Riesling). More recently, Vinarte’s first coupage made its debut; it is bottled up under Nedeea range and is the result of three Romanian varieties – Fetească Neagră, Negru de Drăgășani and Novac.
