Cramele Recaș

The wine crafted by Cramele Recas has its own soul. The story of the leader of the wine producers in Romania by turnover and the largest exporter of bottled wine in the country begins in Banat, in the western part of Romania, where the unique characteristics of the terroir are harmoniously complemented by the passion and dedication of the team.

The winemakers, Hartley Smithers (Australia) and Nora Iriarte (Spain) were included in the „Top 100 winemakers of the world” ranking made by the well-known publication „The Drinks Business UK” in 2020. They are the creators of some of the most famous wines produced by Cramele Recas, such as La Stejari, Cuvée Überland, Solo Quinta, Selene or Sole.

The passion and knowledge of the winemakers, along with the determination of the entire team of Cramele Recas are turned into numerous medals and distinctions offered to the entire range of wines, from entry level to super premium. Between 2023 and 2024, a total of 55 medals and distinctions were obtained by the wines produced by Cramele Recas at both local and international competitions. The record of these medals was given by four major medals: THE GRAND GOLD MEDAL obtained by Sole Chardonnay 2022 at the „Concorso Enologico Internationale Citta del Vino, Sambuca di Sicilia”, followed by the GRAND GOLD MEDAL obtained by Sole Roze 2022 and Muse Night 2022 at „Mondial de Rose” in France and last, but not least, the GRAND GOLD MEDAL obtained by Conacul Ambrozy 2018 at „Concours Mondial de Bruxelles”.

For Cramele Recas, the nature represents the main resource which guides the activities of the producer, each and every harvest. Therefore, initiatives such as the installation of a photovoltaic plant at the winery, the vegan certification for all the wines in the portfolio, the sponsoring strategy for the events which support a healthy lifestyle through movement, or the renewal of approximately 68% of the car fleet dedicated to the sales force with electric and hybrid cars represents just some of the main activities through which the producer turns the social responsibility strategy into an annual objective.

The promise made by the producer to its community is to continue to continue to set the trend in the wine domain in Romania based on quality, taste diversity and responsibility towards all the resources invested in the evolution of the company.
