As part of Bostavan Wineries Group, well-known holding-company from the Republic of Moldova, Crama Ceptura is one of the most modern winemaking facilities in Romania. The vine plantations are located in the Dealu Mare vineyard, at Ceptura, in an area with optimum southern exposure, enjoying two extra weeks of sun in comparison to other wine regions in the country.
The brand’s history begins in 2002, with the purchase of an older winery in Dealu Mare by the Moldovan group which also owns the wine producers Purcari and Bostavan, as well as the Bardar brandy factory. Started in 2004, the modernization of the winery ended in 2005, when the first wine batch was sent to the market. With an area of 13.000 square meters, the new winery is the result of a 7 million euros investment, carried out by accessing SAPARD programme funds, supported by the European Union.
Among the grape varieties in the company’s portfolio, there are Chardonnay, Fetească Albă, Fetească Regală, Muscat Ottonel, Italian Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Fetească Neagră, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Syrah. The wine ranges are called Astrum Cervi, Cervus Cepturum, Cervus Magnus Monte, Șoapta Călugărului, Sângele Ursului and Casa Mare.
