Rusalcă Albă
2013

Oprișor Winery

Rusalca is a mythological character from Oltenia, a blessed land in Southern Romania. A spirit of the waters, this character plays it is the embodiment of a woman who attracts young people to the water’s edge, tempting them into the depths of the river. A wine that reminds me of a late summer, a summer without time and space, in the light breezes of the wind, a summer scented by wildflowers, green fields with endless horizons, all urging me to dream with open eyes. A romantic mood, where time is nowhere and sometimes in the vine leaf. The coat of this wine is pale yellow, illuminated by a delicate green similar to Baltic amber. Aromas of acacia, elder and hawthorn flowers, but also of fruits – pineapple, mango, banana, melon, pear, white peach, touches of hay and minerals. Its complex, pleasant, fresh and convincing taste is in perfect harmony with the delicate structure of this wine. Elegant, with many facets, abandoning itself in the end in notes of thyme, almonds and grass. What could be more beautiful than the endless memory of taste, harmony and balance!
