La Putere Merlot
2012

Cramele Recaș

The Merlot made by Cramele Recaş is somewhat different from other Romanian Merlots – its incisive personality stands out. The name of this wine, “La Putere” (To the power / In Power / Empowered), is really a good choice. Intense ruby with dense and concentrated aromas, fresh and spicy with an elegant note of small berries and wild blackberries. Notes of black chocolate, balanced by menthol. On the palate, we find it well stretched out in the tannic mass; it has fruit and density, with a full, round, and soft taste. The finish is full of toast and licorice notes, as well as hints of vanilla and tobacco. An iron fist in a velvet glove; this is how I see this wine. Strength and decision covered in delicacy and sweetness.
