Viile Metamorfosis

Antinori proficiency at Vadu Săpat

The winery owned by Vitis Metamorfosis is part of Dealu Mare vineyard, placed in Urlaţi and Breaza viticulture centres and also on the wine-growing lands of Valea Urloi, Fintești and Năeni. It covers an area of 100 hectares, of which 67.5 hectares are planted with vines.
The company, founded in 2008, combines the wine tradition of the famous Antinori family and the talent of the oenologist Fiorenzo Rista. Besides the acquisition of 100 hectares, the investment involved the purchase, the renovation and the refurbishment of Vadu Săpat cellar. Viile Metamorfosis aims to promote local varieties and sustainable viticulture. In 2013, the first fifteen hectares of the organic vine were certified by Austria Bio Garantie, one of the European leaders in terms of inspection and certification of organic agriculture. The winery serves the three vineyards owned by Viile Metamorfosis. Modern technology harmoniously blends with oak barrels of small and large capacity, especially used for the maturation of red wines.
The grape varieties cultivated here are: Chardonnay, Fetească Albă, Fetească Regală, Muscat Ottonel, Sauvignon Blanc, Tămâioasă Românească, Cabernet Sauvignon, Fetească Neagră, Merlot, Negru de Drăgășani, Pinot Noir and Syrah. Viile Metamorfosis portfolio includes Cantvs Primvs, Via Marchizului, Via Colțul Pietrei, Viile Metamorfosis and Fluturi.
