Second edition of RO-Wine 2023 set for May 12-14, in Bucharest

RO-Wine | The International Wine Festival of Romania announced that this spring’s edition will set new records, both in terms of duration and diversity. The festival will take place on May 12,13 and 14, the first three-day edition in the history of the festival. Friday, May 12, will be reserved exclusively for those who work in the wine industry or in related fields (HoReCa, distribution, etc.). According to tradition, the host of the RO-WINE festival will be Studio Fratelli, on Glodeni street no. 1-3, Bucharest.

"RO-WINE has grown from one edition to another, from one year to another, and we can only enjoy the growing interest of producers and wine lovers. We ended up with three days of the festival, in three halls, because it was the only possibility to simultaneously honor our promises to the HoReCa market and to wine lovers. Even so, with more time and more space available, we advise visitors to learn out about the exhibitors and the masterclass program, to plan ahead, because the offer is already so large and attractive that, for sure, they will not have time to listen to all the stories, see and taste everything", said the organizers of the festival, Marinela Ardelean and Liviu Popescu, in a press release.

RO-Wine will host an array of new wineries and new wine labels premieres, masterclasses and top international guests

RO-Wine will introduce to wine lovers a record number of participating wineries, with a total of over 1000 premium and superpremium wines from all over the world, opened for tasting.

Along with numerous local wine producers, the festival will host over 40 wineries from the Republic of Moldova, which will exhibit their latest wines for the Romanian market. As well as producers from Bulgaria, Greece, Spain, Argentina, USA, France and New Zealand.

RO-Wine visitors will also have the chance to taste a selection of sparkling wines and premium champagne from Romanian and international wine producers, importers and champagne houses. The ”bubbles” will be present in all three event halls.

Wine lovers will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge, but also to discover new wines, new ranges and new stories within the festival’s masterclasses. Averesti Estates, Crama SERVE and Jidvei are just some of the wineries that will have presentations during the festival, while the Prince Matei Domaine, the producer of the legendary Dealu Mare Merlot, will officially announce its new image, for the first time, following an extensive rebranding process.

At the producers’ booths, you will meet both the usual participants in the festival, as well as young wineries, more or less at the beginning of their journey, who have not yet come to the attention of the general public – the wines of Cluj University, Valeaeden, Familia Darabont, Domaine Dumetrier (Romania), Din Balcani (Bulgaria), Alter Ego, Maurt or Tandem (Moldova), Lazaridi Alexakis (Greece), plus more than 20 producers selected by the Italian Foreign Trade Institute.

Carrefour Romania, partner of the festival, will take part in this edition through the Deschidem Vinul Romanesc (DVR / We Open the Romanian Wine) program, a long-term national program whose mission is to support the Romanian wine industry and put Romania on the international wine map.
Visitors will be able to purchase wines at special prices during the event at the DVR stand.

The fine French pastries and melted butter on warm bread, offered by Nicolai Tand, at the L’Univers de Nicolai stand, will be present, as usual.

The Italian Foreign Trade Institute (ICE) premieres Taste of Italy

For the first time, the Italian Agency for Foreign Trade (ICE) will organize the Taste of Italy salon, with a selection of Italian gourmet specialties and exceptional wines, including a selection of prosecco and one of organic wines from different regions of Italy. The hall dedicated to Italy includes, along with gastronomic specialties, 24 wine producers participating for the first time in RO-Wine.

As with every edition, access for those working in the wine market or HoReCa and other related areas is free, based on prior registration on the event’s official website,www.romaniawinefestival.com.
