Velvet Winery is a “boutique winery” concept, located in the heart of the Dealu Mare wine region – in the Tohani vineyard, an area that has become in the past few years the “epicenter” of small and medium wineries, focused on producing quality wines. The winery uses modern technology to preserve the primary aromas of the grapes and the genuineness of the variety intact.
Currently, Velvet Winery has a 36 ha vineyard, the vines being planted on terraces with southern exposure. Both Romanian varieties – Fetească Neagră, Tămâioasă Românească, Fetească Regală – and international varieties such as Chardonnay, Muscat Ottonel, Riesling Italian, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Syrah are planted.
The wines are made with emphasis on quality and genuineness of the variety, created under the direct guidance of one of the most appreciated oenologists in the country, Liviu Grigorică. The Velvet Winery portfolio contains both easy-to-understand wines, with varietal expressions, targeted especially at young people, and complex, crafted wines for connoisseurs and enthusiasts.
