250 hectares of organic vines
With over 800 hectares cultivated in the Moldovan vineyards Huşi and Vrancea (Coteşti, Odobeşti, Panciu centers) and two wine centers, Însurăţei (Brăila) and Tirol (Banat), Senator Wines has become, over the past years, one of the major wine producers in Romania. The company, founded in 1991, owns the largest bio vineyard in Southeast Europe, the sixth-largest on the continent, at Însurăței.
Since its foundation, Senator Wines has invested over 14 million euros in vines replanting and in the retrofitting of the Odobești winery. Its portfolio includes over 20 varieties of grown vines, among which: Aligoté, Băbească Gri, Chardonnay, Crâmpoșie, Fetească Albă, Fetească Regală, Muscat Ottonel, Pinot Gris, Italian Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Șarbă, Tămâioasă Românească, Zghihară de Huşi, Busuioacă de Bohotin, Băbească Neagră, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cadarcă, Fetească Neagră, Merlot and Shiraz.
The wine ranges, including the newer ones and the already well-known ones, are: Glia, Hereditas, Jovial, Lup Alb, Monșer, Occultus, Omnia (organic wines from the varieties Fetească Albă, Băbească Neagră, Fetească Neagră), Secolul 13, Senator Private Collection, Suav (sweet wines from the varieties Busuioacă de Bohotin, Muscat Ottonel, Tămâioasă Românească).
