History and passion
It all started in 1924, when grandfather Niculae, together with other families from the Drăgăşani area, founded Siminoc, a village where they planted the first vine with noble and hybrid varieties brought from around. After 1989, the family gained back what was hers, a vine of almost 19 ha, old and rusty, which they would refresh starting from 1995. Therefore, they decided to completely replace all the grape cuttings for the next five years with varieties with better storage capacity and flavours.
The most recent modernization project goes back to 2009. It meant, besides the refurbishing of the cellar, the installment of a drip irrigation system, provided via a pit, as well as the acquisition of a wine-growing tractor and its subsequent tools. The financing following the approval of these modernization projects led to a young plantation, with superior varieties. Stainless steel tanks, controlled ferment, a pneumatic press, and other equipment are used in order to obtain a quality wine.
Thus, the Siminoc modern cellar was founded, with a processing capacity of 200 tons of grapes and storing facilities for 80,000 liters, using only the fruits produced within the plantation. The resulting creation was a premium one, The Vlădoi Domain.
The ravac stump, refined with selected yeasts for every
variety and carefully watched through the whole process of controlled ferment, led to the creation of a premium wines range, Ravak. Another similar one is Pivniţa Basarabilor
(The Basarabs Cellar), which is comprised of whites as well
as reds, matured in oak barriques, thus having a velvety particular aging.
