Premium and sparkling wines on Vrancea’s terroir
The history of Domeniile Panciu begins in 2006 when Daniel Guzu, the business owner, aims to rediscover and carry forward the Panciu winemaking tradition. The winery owns over 120 hectares at Ţifeşti, at Panciu vineyard, and cultivates French varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat Ottonel, Chardonnay, Aligoté, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon, and especially famous Romanian varieties – Fetească Albă, Fetească Regală, Şarbă, Băbească Neagră, and Fetească Neagră. The company’s portfolio covers a whole range of wines: white, rosé, red, sparkling – obtained by the traditional method and also sparkling and fizzy – fermented in tanks. The retail range can be found under the brands “Panciu Riserva” and “Casa Panciu” that embrace a wide variety of white, rosé, and red wines, dry, semi-dry, and sweet ones produced from varieties like Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat Ottonel, Fetească Albă, Fetească Regală, Şarbă, Băbească Neagră, Cabernet Sauvignon and Fetească Neagră. “Domeniile Panciu” and “Sagio” are premium wines ranges. The range of sparkling wines is in continuous expansion: Domeniile Panciu brut is obtained by the Champenoise method, while Casa Panciu and Panciu Riserva, white or rosé, semi-dry or sweet sparkling wines are fermented in tanks by either Charmat or Asti method. In 2017, Panciu’s sparkling wines range is completed by five new types of classic sparkling wine, carefully maturated for at least 18 months. Fizzy wine enthusiasts will be delighted by Blanc de Blancs, Blanc de Noirs, Cuvée Prestige rosés, and classic red sparkling limited edition.
