A family business
At Crama Tata şi Fiul wines are made with wisdom and love, from manually selected and harvested grapes by vintners from Nicoreşti and Coteşti. It’s all about passion, dedication, willingness to carry forward, from father to son, a tradition of hundreds of years. This family business was founded in 2003 by Costel Apostol after many years of experience in the wine industry. Crama Tata şi Fiul has a capacity of 3.000.000 liters per year, 150 hectares planted with noble Romanian varieties (Tămâioasă Românească, Fetească Albă, Fetească Neagră, Băbească Neagră, Fetească Regală) and international varieties (Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat Ottonel, Riesling, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot). Stored in stainless steel tanks and temperature-controlled fermenters, some wines are also matured in oak barrels of 225 liters, Bordeaux type, then bottled and kept in the cellars for aging.
Their wines have won many gold and silver medals at several wine contests: in 2017, Muscat Ottonel obtained the grand gold medal of the white wines section at the Bachus Vine and Wine Festival 2010–2017; at the Vinul.ro Excellence Awards 2015, the coupage of Chardonnay & Sauvignon Blanc 2015 was voted the wine of the year 2016 with the highest score in the contest for the white wines section; an impressive number of medals (8 gold medals and 12 silver medals) at the International Wine Contest Bucharest 2016 and 2017; the coupage of Chardonnay & Sauvignon Blanc 2017 obtained the silver medal at Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2018.
