Lechburg Winery

The story of noble Lechburg wines began in 2015 in Lechința, in the heart of Transylvania, but if we were to tell the whole story, it goes even further, until 1962.
At that time, a family originally from Italy re-planted noble vineyards, carrying on the tradition of generations of Saxon and Alsatian viticulturists. They came from the Rhine valley to Lechința (in the 13th century).
This “fertile” soil of the local traditions forces us today to make viticulture an art. And the soil supports this, literally. The grapes ripen in privileged climatic conditions, on the steep slopes of the hills. Protected by the mountain range of the Carpathians and blessed with 1800 hours of sunshine, warm days and cold nights during ripening, the wine-growing territory provides a wide selection of grapes.
Thanks to its unique climatic and geological factors, the Lechința area has earned its own DOC controlled designation of origin, a prestigious one. The method of ecological cultivation also came, naturally, by the nature of the place, in order to preserve the natural heritage.
