Crâmpoșie Spumant
2010

Prince Știrbey Winery

This wine confirms the overall evolution in quality for Romanian wines. Until recently, sparkling wines were too sweet and were consumed almost exclusively during parties. I would dare to say that Crampoșie from Prince Ştirbey, the sparkling version, was the first Romanian wine in this category that impressed me a lot. Made with great responsibility and attention to detail, it respects the international principles of quality. The pearlage is fine, delicate and persistent. Light yellow coat, like the honey of acacia flowers. An unmistakable olfactory picture defines this wine, sincere, intense and rich in minerals. It opens with notes of herbs, fruits, apples, pears, hints of citrus that evolve into aromas of warm bread and wrap up in the elegance of toasted almond flakes. Vibrant and determined, with an intense energy, fresh and crunchy, the taste of wine reminds of dried flowers, hay and grapefruit. The finish is long, elegant and slightly bitter. This wine fully respects the author’s promise; it is nothing but the result of a job well done in the winery, with a single goal: uncompromising quality!
