Busuioacă de Bohotin
2012

Basilescu Winery

With this wine I lived my first experience with Busuioacă de Bohotin, a local variety of great importance for the Romanian viticultural heritage. It is impossible to remain indifferent to his ability to make himself pleasant, like love at first sight. The color of cherry blossoms, pink with shades of onion leaves, it is a wine that likes to be in the center of attention and not to be neglected at all. Seduces with sweet and intense aromas of wild rose, strawberries, apricots and peaches, raspberries, quince, honey and slightly herbaceous notes. Elegant and feminine, but at the same time with character. The irresistible taste is due to ripe fruits, pears, melons, grapefruit, mandarins, shock flowers and polyfloral honey, as if in its grain all the exotic aromas of the world met. One of the important aspects that rewards this wine is the freshness that manages to reconcile the sweet feeling which, contrary to expectations, is not invasive at all. With an aristocratic elegance and a well-defined body, this Busuioacă de Bohotin reminds us that wine can give intense sensations. Lively, with a very exotic finish, rich in notes of orange peel and cherries, it is defined by a long applauded taste. The wine from this year’s harvest signed by the beautiful Otilia, the oenologist of the Basilescu winery, was an emotional journey, both olfactory and especially gustatory.
